I am really enjoying this trilogy. The thing I love most about it, is how the author does not shy away from making her characters complex and real girls with believable shortcomings. She doesn't try to make them perfect or ideal images of heroines we are used to seeing. They have faults but these flaws make them so much more relatable and thus likeable. I am amazed with how well the author is able to capture the dynamics of relationships teen girls have with one another.The story goes to very unpredictable places and she doesn't sit on convention. This story is a refreshing change of pace to alot of what is out there today.
That being said, I do feel that the only drawback is the beginning of the book. I feel the author spends to much time telling and not enough showing in recapping the last book. She spends a good 2-3 pages basically putting in an entire synopsis of the first book. it was uneccessary and only served to slow the pacing. Other than that though, I really enjoyed it and am excited to see how the last book turns out.
